I'm still waiting to find out the word on what exactly is going to happen with my car. The appraiser went to the body shop today, but I haven't heard anything yet, so we'll see what happens. I really hope the car is repaired, because I don't particulaly want to purchase a new one.
Well, there's really not much to report.
Work is freaking busy as hell, and we are extremely short-staffed, thanks to a
University-wide hiring freeze put in place by the
governor. I'm pretty much exhausted when I get home every day. Tonight, I got invited to go eat sushi with some folks, but declined since I had just spent 40 dollars on sushi on Saturday.
This last weekend was pretty active. Friday night I went to The Room (a club in Santa Monica) with Katie, Alisa and Christy. I really didn't have much energy, though, mostly because I'd had such a shitty week last week. Saturday night, though, I went out again with
former co-workers to a club in Hollywood called Star Shoes, on account of it was Danielle Lupkin's birthday. That night, I had a bit too much to drink, and it was pretty crazy. I don't think 'll really go into it, though.
Sunday evening was
the usual, of course. Afterwards, they served dinner there, and had a TV showing the last part of the
Lakeshow. Damn it, that was one intense 4th quarter, and the overtime didn't help make it any less stressful. I've heard that tickets for the upcoming series are selling for like 27,000 dollars.
I've almost done with A Clockwork Orange. That book kicks ass...I can't stress that enough. I really should be done with it by now, though...it takes me longer to read books these days...not like Erika who reads like 8 books a week.
I've got a summer reading list, though. Books I'd theoretically like to finish by the end of the summer, that is.
1. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
2. Visions of Gerard by Jack Kerouac
3. The Tin Drum by Gunther Grass (second attempt)
4. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn
5. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller (second attempt)
6. The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
I think if I get through about half of that, it will be amazing.
